Health and beauty centre operators in Ampang will have to undergo medical screenings called “biology screening” before they are able to renew their business licences.

The new ruling, introduced last December, falls under the beauty and heath centre by-laws of the Ampang Jaya Municipal Council.

Council president Datuk Mohammad Yacob later said there were around 20 of these centres which have yet to renew their licences as they have not undergone the requisite medical test.

He said: “We will give them a conditional approval for one month to continue operating but when the time is up and if they still fail to undergo the requisite medical test, action will be taken against them.”
